Streambox VCR interface is relatively simple and modelled after X-FileGet, a forerunner of SVCR.

The interface consists of 3 main regions:
The main window displays a number of columns
labeled #, File, Size, Status, Elapsed, Left,
Speed, Attempt and Location. The # column numbers the various downloads starting
from 0. It also displays icons denoting the
status of the download :
| Two blue arrows denote a download in progress | |
| Yellow hourglass indicates stream waiting to download | |
| Attempting to connect | |
| Stream paused or stopped | |
| Stream scheduled to download (SVCR schedule feature ) | |
| Something bad has happened !! |
The File column denotes the name of the local download
file. Size specifies the current size of the local
file. For an on demand stream it will also
give the percent download. The Status column specifies the total size of the download
for an on demand stream; for a live stream
it will have the value "Live".
The Elapsed column gives the elapsed time for the download.
Speed is the current speed in kbs of the current
download. Left is the estimated time left for an on demand
download; it is blank for a live stream.
Attempt is the number of attempts made by VCR to
capture the stream. Location is the URL of the download stream.
The Medium and Short tabs of the main window reduce the number
of colums displayed in the main window. Right
clicking in the main window displays a menu,
one option of which is labelled Options.
By selecting Options you can choose which
columns to display in the main window and
change the order in which they are displayed
from left to right.
| The right (window) pane of SVCR displaying the log tab is shown below. The Log tab shows the detailed download connection status. You can paste the contents of the Log to the clipboard by rightclicking in the window, select Select All and right click again and select copy. The Info tab shows current data for the selected download. | |

The Links tab is used when trying to locate all streaming URLs contained in a web page (See Finding URLs). Source and HTML tabs are also explained there. The Capture tab is used with the intercept feature of SVCR Beta 3.1 (See Finding URLs). |
| The History tab documents the URLs of streams you have downloaded recently. If you access the History tab, double clicking on a date will list all the URLs downloaded that day. Double clicking a URL will start that download again. | |
| Opens Settings window to set default values. | |
| Toggles the Right Pane window on and off. | |
| Displays the History file in the right pane window. | |
| Displays the Log File for the selected download. | |
| Deletes the selected item from the download list (not the download file). | |
| Starts (re-starts) the selected download. | |
| Stops (pauses) the selected download. | |
| Link. Similar to paste except you have type in the stream URL. | |
| Paste. Use to paste a stream URL from the clipboard to begin downloading. | |
| New. Deletes all items displayed in the download list. |
You must select a particular download from
the list in the main window for the Log File,
Delete, Start and Stop tool bar options.
For example, to stop a particular stream
you need to select the stream by clicking
on the appropriate row in the main window.
This will highlight that row. Pressing the
Stop icon
will stop the download of the selected stream.
For the most part the menu options of SVCR
repeat the operation of the tool bar icons.

The File menu Save and Save As options allow the user to save the URLs
of all of the current downloads as a text
file. If SVCR is then closed, the File menu
Open option allows the user to open this text
file and resume the previous downloads. New will remove all downloads from the main window. |

The Edit menu can be used to copy a selected download
URL to the clipboard (Copy Link) or paste a URL from the clipboard to the
SVCR main window for downloading (Paste Link). Select All will select all the current download URLs form the main SVCR window. |

With the Doanload menu you can Start and Stop a selected download Wait just seems to cause an active download to
disconnect and start reconnecting (?). Del removes a download (active or inactive) from the main SVCR window. It does not delete the download file. Delete File removes the download from the SVCR main window and deletes the download file. Restart restarts a stopped download. |

the status bar (displayed at the bottom of
the SVCR main window). Settings has the same function as Settings icon on the tool bar. Right Pane toggles the right pane on or off. The other menu items display the particular tab in the right pane. |
| Right clicking in the main SVCR window displays
this menu. Paste copies a URL from the clipboard to the main window for downloading. Copy copies the selected URL from the main window to the clipboard. Select All selects all the URLs in the main window. Start starts or restarts a stream. Stop stops a stream. Del deletes the selected entry from the main window (not the download file). Restart restarts a stopped or paused stream. Options allows you to modify the display options of the main window. Properties displays the properties window for the selected stream. |
